My changes for today

- cleanup and robuistness improvements on vitosmt.c
- Added missing prototype in defs.h
- Rewrote non-portable #define in pathaway.c
- Cleaned up several warning-as-error compiler stuff (signed/unsigned,
  missing returns ...)
