Hi there! I am a total nube at this so bare with me! I want to take lat and long coordinates I have and convert them into four different file formats (.USR, .GPX, .HWR & .UPT). I tried
creating a .CSV file in Excel where my headers were Latitude and Longitude with the coordinates in decimal degrees (see example below). I imported this file into GpsBabel specifying the comma separated values Format and selected one of the file formats I mentioned
as my output file type. I click OK and is says it translated successfully, but when I open the file in Notepad to take a look at it, I don’t see any of my coordinates. I’m not sure that it is working correctly. I am ultimately trying to create the four different
file formats to be posted online, so folks can download the files and then upload them on their GPS units on their boats. Any advice you can give would be much much appreciated!
Example of my csv input file
This is the message I get when I click ok to run….
gpsbabel -t -i csv -f C:/Users/mbradley.WLF/Desktop/Mariana AR Work/Website/Input_File.csv -o magellanx -F C:/Users/mbradley.WLF/Desktop/Mariana AR Work/Website/MegellaseXplorist.upt
XCSV attempt to read C:/Users/mbradley.WLF/Desktop/Mariana AR Work/Website/Input_File.csv as a track or route, but this format only supports waypoints on read. Reading
as waypoints instead.
